Do you think it will be necessary to include access keys in University websites?

There are some access keys within the templates.
The one I frequently use is 'F' to take me to the search box.

I do think we could add more that would be useful, but I haven't done enough research to determine what conventions sites are using regarding access keys.

If you have any suggestions, by all means suggest.

I was reading up on this and it seems there no real standards for this yet in the US. I know in the UK they have established some standards for this.

The US sites that do include accesskeys tend to usually have the following 4 basic ones:

Access key 1
Home page
Access key 2
Skip to main content (the navigation bar skip link)
Access key 4
search
Access key 9
Feedback

In my recent project I included 1,2, and 4.
