Display problems

Postby caggens » Thu Sep 29, 2005 2:57 pm

I thought I had figured out how to position some text under an image using a layer (in the main content area). It looks fine using Safari, Firefox, and Explorer on my Mac, but when I go to a PC and view it in Explorer... the layer has jumped what must be 200 pixels to the left.

Is there a different way to position the layer so it doesn't jump around so much? I would like the layer with the links to be below the image on the right.

Thanks!

I'd try nesting the image and the links within their own div. Then positioning that div.

Maybe like this:

Code: Select all
<div style="width:375px;float:right"> <img style="width:375px;height:176px;" id="smallrandomimage1"; src="" alt="Art Department Image" />
                                <script type="text/javascript" src="sharedcode/smallrandomimage.js"></script>
                                <div id="Layer1">
                                    <p class="sseriftext"><a href="arthistoryprogram.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href,'popper','scrollbars=1,width=600,height=650'); return false;" onkeypress="window.open(this.href,'popper','scrollbars=1,width=325,height=500'); return false;">Art History Program</a></p>
                                    <p class="sseriftext"><a href="arthistoryfaculty.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href,'popper','scrollbars=1,width=600,height=650'); return false;" onkeypress="window.open(this.href,'popper','scrollbars=1,width=325,height=500'); return false;">Art History Faculty</a></p>
                                </div>
                            </div>
