Migrating from Dreamweaver MX to Dreamweaver 8

HI,
I am having a student worker add some pages to an existing site. But the computer that he has to use only has Dreamweaver MX on and not Dreamweaver 8 ( I have that on my computer.)

That pages that he as created seem to work fine on the web.

But when I have tried to open them back on our local shared area in DW8 I cannot make any changes to the pages in design view. I seem to be able to make changes in the code view.

As anyone had any experience with this problem?
I really don't have the funds to purchase another update of Dreamweaver right now.
