New Template - White Space on Navigation Bar

Hi,
I have noticed on the new templates that there is a white space over laping the navigation bar. Here is the example from the webdevnet page and here is an example from one of the web pages that I am working on Any one have any ideas how this being created and can be cleaned up?

Hi,
More things I noticed using the new template and errors along side the left navigation bar. BTW I am using IE to view the page and using the fixed template.

This first image is when I come to the page first.

And this is when I click on the "Hide/Show" button Notice that some of the text/links are being covered and the navigation does not totally hide, as I would expect.

So do I need to wait for the template push/pull to see this corrected. Or do I need to download a new set of templates to solve this?
