Printing Affiliates Webpage

Postby mmesarch1 » Fri Nov 03, 2006 11:55 am

HI,
I found that there was a field that does not appear on the afflilates template when view in a browser, but does appear when printing the page. Its editable area is <InstanceBeginEditable>

When printing this shows up Red.

I tried adding a new style to make it print in our affiliates standard color, but the style did not take.

If you go to http://snr.unl.edu:9112 the text "This is a new title" has the style applied to it and it works. But if you print this page The "Nebraska Forest Service" title also has the style applied to it, but prints in Red.

How can I get the style to apply to this area?

A side questions we would like the red bar in the navigation title to also be our standard color. How can that be changed?

Thanks

The color of the red 3px borders can be changed with this:
Code: Select all
h4#sec_nav {border-bottom-color:#54691B;}
#footer {border-top-color:#54691B;}

For the print styles, there are more changes to make. The changes include adding a media type to the css, and altering the css <link> reference to be applied for 'all' media types.

I've updated both the sample affiliate.css and the affiliate template. You can see the differences on the cvs server:

http://driftwood.unl.edu/cgi-bin/files/ ... 1.1&r2=1.2
http://driftwood.unl.edu/cgi-bin/files/ ... 1.6&r2=1.7

Hope that makes sense, if you have any questions just ask here.

HI,
I followed what you said.
The navigation and footer color bar did change.

But the Printed Title still did not change color.

Can you see this code or do I need to send the actual pages for you to check?

Thanks

I would send the URL to the page if you can, but you can also post your code here.

If you want html code to come through, check the box that says 'Disable HTML in this post.' That will tell the bulletin board that you don't want the code you enter in to be rendered.

Like this: <a href="foo.bar">Test</a>

The bulletin board software will render-safe any HTML code you type into a message, and throw away anything it considers 'not safe' --- unless you check 'Disable HTML in this post.'

Use the preview button to make sure your post will display how you want it to.

In looking at the original URL you provided, the second change I referred to wasn't made. The link to the stylesheet still needs to altered.

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="sharedcode/affiliate.css" />

should be

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="sharedcode/affiliate.css" />

HI,
I did change it in the unlaffilifate.dwt and then updated the page.
However, the change is in an editable area and is not changed when it is updated. Thus I need to do the change in all the existing pages with a find and replace. But any new page should be taken care of with original change. Thanks.
