Footer - W3C link no longer validates page

I routinely use the W3C link in the template footer to validate pages. The last few days it hasn't been working on our pages at http://lancaster.unl.edu

So I checked other UNL sites - it isn't working on other main UNL pages like admissions.unl.edu

However, it worked on the housing.unl.edu site - example: http://housing.unl.edu/parents/index.shtml

I know we can use validator.unl.edu but it was REALLY EASY to just click on the link in the footer.

OK - it is working now and the validator site looks different. Must have been on that end.

When it wasn't working on a lot of UNL sites, and then was fine on the housing site - I thought maybe something was wrong with our footer.

No, problem. I'm glad to hear there are people using the validator.

Well, actually there is something wrong with your footer.

You are using an older version on the Templates. Newer versions of the templates, have changed the w3c link in the footer to our local version of the validator running on campus, which is much faster.

Plus if you look closely, you'll see those two extra dots in your footer between comments? and CSS, that's a hold over from the old templates as well.
