FWIW, I asked some coworkers to share their impressions of the top 7 designs, and here's what was said about this one:
* "#17 is good. I probably like it the best of all of these."
* "# 17 - Simple, could work. Pretty good design. I don't know. Much like # 14 doesn't wow me. Just eh on it."
* "#17 - This is my least favorite. The rounded corners look dated. I do like the red font on the navigation text, but not the bullets."
* "This one's OK. Would be better if navigation was visually separated from the rest of the page."
