Adapated to DWT?

Postby dschmit » Wed Jun 23, 2004 12:16 pm

Has anyone successfully used dreamweaver's template feature with the new pages? I think it would be helpful to post a copy of the template in .dwt format.

Dreamweaver Templates

Postby saltybeagle » Fri Jun 25, 2004 12:58 pm

http://telecom.unl.edu/ has a UNL template site built using the Dreamweaver Templates.

The code is from late December 2003 though, so I wouldn't take it directly.

I agree, I think a common set of DW template files would be very useful.
One cautionary note I would suggest, if there were ever to be widely used Dreamweaver templates, the region names should be carefully thought out, and perhaps agreed upon by interested parties?

just my 2 cents.

Just to get some ideas going, here are the regions used on the telecom site (in addition to default regions).
Submenu -- for defining the callsub navl2 text to be displayed
Sidebar -- (perhaps should be named something different? meaning these are alternate links that in a future template might not be placed on the side?)
    Body
    Breadcrumb

Postby saltybeagle » Fri Feb 04, 2005 9:23 am

Just to follow up with this thread.

We have DWT's ready. They're built for the new css-based templates... interested parties should contact me and/or come to the Feb2005 Web Dev Net meeting to watch me demo using the CSS Dreamweaver Templates.
