Template interfering with javascript popup calendar

I'm building a website using the UNL Template where I need a travel-website like calendar to popup for users to select the date of submission/deadline.

I used a javascript calendar from www.dhtmlgoodies.com and in my page, I used the function displayCalendar to call the calendar.

Instead of calling the calendar I intended, the page kept opening the shelf thing on top "cal/people/weather/cam" so I'm guessing they have similar function names.

I changed the function to a different name in the code and the js page but now it doesn't do anything at all.

Any suggestions ? Thanks a ton !
