Cannot download templates...only offers to save file scsvsn

I am running Win XP and IE7 and I am attempting to download per instructions which read:

The wdn files should go on your server under /wdn/:
http://its-gforge.unl.edu/gf/project/wd ... %2Fwdn.zip

When I click on the link it offers to save a file named
scsvsn, unknown type, 16.2KB

Saving, then renaming the file as wdn.zip does not work (not a real ZIP file, so cannot extract).

What am I doing wrong?!

I can directly download from
http://ucommbieber.unl.edu/workspace/wd ... es/wdn.zip
But I am not sure if these are the most recent files.

So the 'official' option does not seem to work for me.
Please advise

You can use the other download links:

http://wdn.unl.edu/downloads/wdn.zip
http://wdn.unl.edu/downloads/UNLTemplates.zip

These files will be more up to date in most cases.

Method 1:
Yes I can do as you suggest, as a backup system, and not knowing upfront if these files are up-to-date.

Method 2:
I also can save the 'official' files I was talking about using the
default name 'scmsvn', and then rename to wdn.zip for instance.

However I cannot extract anything.
- right clicking on the renamed file and selecting "extract all..." fails
- a double-click on the file brings a dialog stating that the ZIP file is corrupted.

So I will stick with method 1. It is just strange to go through all that trouble to download files.
