Tables in the new template

Postby Joel Brehm » Mon Jul 06, 2009 12:14 pm

Why is all table functionality overridden in the new templates? Is there any way to stop this from happening?

My use of tables is limited, but it's frustrating when I do want to use them -- especially for aligning things vertically.

Here's an example:

The same exact code outside the templates:

Note that the template version doesn't have a border, it doesn't allow cell padding or cell spacing and it doesn't do any vertical alignment.

Thanks,
Joel

This issue was reported a while ago, and is being discussed within the project tracker at http://its-gforge.unl.edu/gf/project/wd ... tem_id=196

The solution is to style tables using CSS, but I've proposed removing the CSS reset on tables, and that "fix" is currently in the repository, but not distributed yet as there are some other changes awaiting distribution.

The latest template files should have this fixed. If you could try and report back, that would be great.

Thanks!
