Showing Full Navigation by default...

The default in the new templates is to hide the drop down navigation. Looking at the code for the templates, I see that this is controlled in navigation.js (preferredState : 0;). There does not seem to be a nice way of changing this default to "show" without altering the javascript which I (and WDN) would rather not do. Is there an interface planned? Is there a better way of doing this? Can anyone make a good argument for making hidden the default?

Justification? Because navigation is a model activity. Because scannable, megabox navigation works well. Because usability tests revealed no significant usability problems. Because content is king.

Eventually, there is an interface planned for all manner of user options, to be accessed via login. Right now, a user can set a preference that's stored in a cookie.

Typo. But it is a good activity for models as well.
