Can someone post the mockup from this morning's meeting?

I'm also wondering, since mockups for the double bar navigation weren't created yet, if the group is going straight to coding with those or if mockups will be created first? And if so, can they be posted before surveying/testing is done?

The past two weeks (Mar. 29 and Apr. 5) have largely been spent discussing more minute details of the navigation, as well as how many different variations we will need to code and test. After Tuesday's meeting, we arrived on a rough consensus of the following design:

The five examples that will need to be coded are:

1. Mega dropdown navigation (which is pictured above and will function much like it does now, with the added emphasis of highlighted columns and some other small improvements) with 6 primary navigation elements or less.

2. Mega dropdown navigation with 7 or more primary navigation elements where both bars are shown on page load.

3. Mega dropdown navigation with 7 or more primary navigation elements where a single bar is shown on page load, with the second "row" of primaries only shown on rollover.

2 and 3 are variations on functionality, but both will have a look similar to the following link:

4. Flag-style navigation with 6 primary navigation elements or less.
5. Flag-style navigation with 7 or more primary elements.

The look of the flag style navigation would be exactly like what is coded for the mega dropdown nav, with the exception that only the single column would show based on which primary navigation is hovered over.

As mentioned above, coding on these 5 variations will start soon, so any and all hands will be welcome if you're familiar with html, css, and javascript. Reply in this thread if you wish to join in, or hop in the WDN IRC channel for further discussion.

For those closely following the discussion on handling large navigation (7 or more primary elements), as the previous post mentions, we are heavily testing the nav prototype named "multi-bar" in the PDF that was previously uploaded in this thread.

Tests 1, 2, 4, and 5 are all implementations of the "multi-bar" prototype, with 1 and 4 only having one bar.

Test 3 is an implementation of the "alternate UI/Styles" prototype. It closely follows the current behavior of the navigation and lends it self to only being implemented in a megabox.
