Preview Iterative Nav Revisions

Postby bbieber2 » Tue Jun 07, 2011 4:47 pm

For those that would like to preview their site in the templates that will go live on July 1st, 2011 you can use the following tool:

http://ucommbieber.unl.edu/workspace/wdntemplates/preview.php?u=http://www.unl.edu/

Keep in mind this is a development environment so things may change as the group meets weekly (Tuesdays at 10:30am).

Change the u= parameter to the URL you wish to preview.

Is there a place that we can download copies of the new files for our own test servers? I'm guessing that this will be replacing the main "wdn" folder contents?

Thanks.

Two items:

1) When I test my site, the local site search box from the previous template displays above the navigation. Do I need to go in and remove this from all of my pages, or is there something that can be done in the template that will continue to hide it?

2) In the footer under related links, can we indent the 2nd line of wrapped text to match the first line?

Ah yes, we can add a rule to hide that within the templates, but I would remove it from your sharedcode/navigation.html file.

Thanks,

Did we decide to go ahead and widen the content area? I have extra space between columns.

I have discovered that if you have any class="first" or class="second" in your navigation.html file it causes your navigation to wrap around to several lines. If you take these out, it works OK. If others are having this problem, give this a try.

It looks like a Denny's placemat, are there other options?

We have Burger King, and, of course, Runza placemats for you to choose from.

I don't think any of that, nor the footer styling has been finalized. Tuesday at 10:30 we'll be meeting again to finalize remaining issues. Hopefully you can make it, otherwise post here with your recommendations.
