I like the look of the button as an 'over' state.

I would prefer a navigation bar that doesn't wrap though. The second line could look like sub navigation for the line above it.

As with any suggestion, it'd be great if complaints or grievances were accompanied by a quality, viable solution.

Uhh yea, Aaron, I totally agree 100%. Lets see some solutions that don't create problems.

A navigation bar that does not wrap = a single line navigation bar.

Some frictions are inevitable in our discussions; that's to be expected. We need to generally be constructive wherever possible. We've all been doing this long enough to have some ego involvement in it, and we all need to be aware of that in the way we communicate.
